⚠️ COPPA Consent Reminder

If your students are under 13 years old, you must obtain parental consent before creating student accounts in ClassBank.

See How to Collect and Track Parental Consent for step-by-step instructions.

How do I add students?

  1. Click "Add Student" > "Student Info"

  2. Enter your student's name, username, and password

  3. Note: Be sure to write this password down! For privacy reasons we are unable to display passwords once teachers create them so we recommend writing the usernames and passwords down in a doc to print out for your kiddos!

  4. Pro Tip: Want to use Google SSO? Make sure that student usernames are their emails and that they are all lowercase. Using Google email addresses eliminates the need for separate passwords and allows students to sign in with Google.

  5. Select "Add another student" to add multiple students at once. If you don’t see fields like name and grade, scroll to the bottom of the student-adding screen and select the “+ ADD ANOTHER STUDENT” option to reveal these fields.

  6. Click "Add to Class"

Choose one of the following methods:

Tip: For tasks like importing or adding students, it is recommended to use a laptop or desktop computer for a smoother experience.

Option 1: Add Students Using a Class Code

Prefer to add a whole class of students at once? Add students with a class code! You can also use the Bulk Upload method to add multiple students at once by uploading a file with their information. Additionally, schools with an active Student Information System (SIS) can integrate ClassBank to automatically manage rosters, ensuring seamless updates for new and departing students.

Class codes allow students to create their own accounts and join your class.

  1. Select Class Code.

  2. Display the class code to your students.

  3. Have students go to:

classbank.com → Sign Up → Student

  1. Students enter:

  • Class code

  • Name (optional)

  • Username

  • Password

⚠️ Important: Make sure students select Student when signing up. If a student accidentally creates a teacher account, contact our support team for help.

⚠️ Important: Student passwords cannot be viewed after they are created. Have students write down their passwords or store them somewhere safe.

Option 2: Add Students Manually

You can create student accounts yourself using usernames and passwords.

  1. Select Student Info.

  2. Enter each student's:

    1. Name (optional)

    2. Username

    3. Password

  1. Select Add another student to add multiple students.

  2. Click Add to Class.

⚠️ Important: Teacher-created passwords cannot be viewed later. We recommend saving or printing student login information before finishing setup.

Option 3: Import Students

If you have a roster, you can upload students using the student import template.

  1. Download the student import template.

  2. Complete the spreadsheet.

  3. Keep the column names and order exactly the same.

  4. Upload the completed file.

Option 4: Add Students Through a School Subscription

If your school uses a School Subscription, you can add students from your school's roster.

  1. Search for the student's name.

  2. Select the desired student.

  3. If the student is not listed, select contact your administration or reach out to ClassBank in the chat.

Can students be in more than one class?

With Free and ClassBank Pro accounts, each student can only be added to one class.

If students need to participate in multiple classes, your school will need a School Subscription.
