By calculating their new balances, students make real-world connections to words like deposit and withdraw, acknowledge the real-time feedback you provide them, and practice addition and subtraction without even realizing it! (Abby and I were both math teachers, so we had to work in the extra reinforcement😊). However, we also understand that there are a variety of reasons that turning off math calculations make sense (for younger students, older students, or students who may need a little extra help).
How do I turn off math calculations for individual students?
Click "Edit Class"
Click "Advanced" tab
Uncheck any students that you DO NOT want to do math calculations
Checked students will be responsible for doing the math to calculate their new balance to make their deposits and withdraws.
Uncheck students to opt them out of math calculations.
Click "Save"
