How do I make a purchase for a student?
Go to your class and click the check box next to your student(s), the same place you send bonuses and fines
Select "Send Store Charge"
Choose the item(s) they're buying. You can pick multiple items and more than one of each, like a pencil and two homework passes ✏️
Send it! The cost comes out of the student's balance right away
Good to know
✅ No approval needed. Purchases you make are automatically accepted.
🔒 Works when your store is closed. You can make purchases for students even if your store is closed to them.
💰 No negative balances. If a student doesn't have enough money for the item, the purchase won't go through
⏳ Pending transactions are OK. You can make a purchase even if a student hasn't processed their pending transactions yet. (Students shopping on their own still need to process pending transactions first.)
📄 It's all in your records. Teacher purchases show up in your store purchase export alongside student purchases, marked as accepted.
Does this work with my store inventory?
Yes! If you're a Pro Subscriber or have a School subscription and you've added quantities to your store items, the quantity goes down with every purchase you make, just like when students shop. You won't be able to purchase an item that's out of stock, so your store always matches what's actually on your shelf. 🙌
